Historiquement, les b\u00e2timents \u00e9taient principalement de faible hauteur, construits en bois rond ou en ossature l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"line-height:1.5\">Avec l\u2019urbanisation, les normes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 incendie ont restreint l\u2019usage du bois dans les b\u00e2timents de grande hauteur. En 2015, la R\u00e9gie du b\u00e2timent du Qu\u00e9bec (RBQ) a autoris\u00e9 les constructions en ossature l\u00e9g\u00e8re de bois jusqu\u2019\u00e0 6 \u00e9tages, sous des conditions strictes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"line-height:1.5\">L\u2019introduction du bois lamell\u00e9-crois\u00e9 (CLT) a offert un nouveau mat\u00e9riau comportant une r\u00e9sistance comparable au b\u00e9ton. Cette innovation a permis la construction de b\u00e2timents plus hauts, durables et \u00e0 faible empreinte carbone. Le Qu\u00e9bec s\u2019est rapidement positionn\u00e9 comme un chef de file dans l\u2019utilisation du bois massif dans les constructions multifamiliales et non r\u00e9sidentielles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"line-height:1.5\">Combinant performance structurelle et protection incendie, le concept de bois massif encapsul\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour r\u00e9pondre aux exigences de s\u00e9curit\u00e9. En juillet 2025, la RBQ a publi\u00e9 un guide technique autorisant la construction de b\u00e2timents en bois encapsul\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 18 \u00e9tages, sans demande de d\u00e9rogation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"line-height:1.5\">Ces avanc\u00e9es s\u2019inscrivent dans la Politique d\u2019int\u00e9gration du bois dans la construction, visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire l\u2019empreinte carbone et \u00e0 stimuler l\u2019\u00e9conomie foresti\u00e8re locale. Elle est membre de l\u2019Ordre des architectes du Qu\u00e9bec depuis 1994. En 2021, elle a \u00e9galement termin\u00e9 une formation en m\u00e9diation civile, commerciale et du travail. Apr\u00e8s plusieurs ann\u00e9es \u00e0 travailler dans le domaine de l\u2019architecture et dans la sph\u00e8re politique, elle est nomm\u00e9e, en 2015, au poste de vice-pr\u00e9sidente \u00e0 la r\u00e9glementation et \u00e0 l\u2019innovation de la R\u00e9gie du b\u00e2timent du Qu\u00e9bec. Elle repr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement le Qu\u00e9bec au sein de plusieurs comit\u00e9s nationaux strat\u00e9giques dans l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de la normalisation et de la r\u00e9glementation technique. Elle a particip\u00e9 activement aux travaux ayant men\u00e9 \u00e0 la signature de plusieurs ententes d\u2019harmonisation et de conciliation des codes d\u00e9coulant de l\u2019Accord de libre-\u00e9change canadien, dont celle portant sur la reconnaissance des num\u00e9ros d\u2019enregistrement des appareils sous pression et celle visant l\u2019harmonisation des codes du b\u00e2timent entre les gouvernements provinciaux et territoriaux et le Conseil national de recherches du Canada conclue en 2020.
