Building Smarter with Wood: Sustainable Solutions to Resilient Communities and Housing

Many countries are currently experiencing unprecedented housing crises while other countries are facing a shrinking and aging population. What connects the two is the need to build better and faster and to have sustainable and resilient building solutions.

The 2025 Woodrise Congress will showcase next-generation solutions using wood and mass timber across different countries. Emerging and innovative public policies, technical advances, market-relevant and low carbon solutions will be explored through business leaders, construction professionals and researchers.

The team is working on an inspiring and informative program focused on the future of wood construction and its vital role in creating sustainable and resilient communities. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect.

Plenary Sessions

Plenary Session 1: Building Smarter with Wood - International Policies & Incentives

The housing crisis in some countries is calling on governments to find solutions to build smarter, faster, and better, and climate change is calling for all necessary measures to promote sustainable and resilient cities

Plenary Session 2: Building Smarter with Wood - The Role of Business Leaders

It is essential that business leaders come up with innovative and sustainable solutions to build faster and better to ensure that our cities are better adapted to climate changes and that livable, affordable housing is accessible for the next generations.
