Alex serves the Province of Ontario as an engineer and program advisor with the Ministry of Natural Resources’ Forest Industry Division, where he supports initiatives that advance wood use in construction and promote the growth of Ontario’s forest sector. The Forest Industry Division leads efforts to drive innovation, expand markets for wood products, and strengthen the province’s forest-based economy.

With over 25 years of experience in engineering design, construction, and wood product manufacturing across both public and private sectors, Alex brings deep expertise in mass timber and light-frame systems. He holds diplomas in Woodworking Technology, Wood Processing Techniques, and Civil Engineering Technology, along with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Ottawa–Carleton University Joint Institute.

Alex contributes daily to the delivery of key government initiatives such as the Forest Sector Strategy, the Advanced Wood Construction Action Plan, and the Forest Sector Investment and Innovation Program.
